Dr. Joseph Michael Gasik

Dr. Joseph M. Gasik, age 81 of NE Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away
peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Preceded in
death by Father Joseph I. Gasik, mother Veronica M. Olson (Gasik),and
stepfather O. Fred Olson; sister, Gloria Jean O'Donnell. Survived by
wife, Patricia A. Gasik, children, Joseph (Colleen) M. Gasik, Jon
(Jennifer) P. Gasik, Sister Kay Olson-Fischer (Randy), brother Mark
Olson, nephew Drew Fischer, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grand
children.
Dr. Joseph Gasik was a primary care physician for almost 50 years. He
graduated from St. Thomas College in St. Paul and received his medical
degree from Marquette University School of Medicine in Milwaukee.
He completed an internship at St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis where
he first met his beautiful bride Patricia who he was married to for over
54 wonderful years.
He loved all of his patients and staff at his NE medical clinic on 2 nd street
NE. He later sold the clinic and became part of the North Memorial
clinic and hospital system until he retired at age 74.
Dr. Gasik was a man of faith and an active member of the St Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church where he served as a church/school board
member for several years. He also served as an Eucharistic Minister at
St. Charles for many years. Dr. Gasik volunteered at St.Charles and
Totino- Grace high school as the teams football doctor. He enjoyed
watching his two sons play football from the team sidelines.
