Barry Patrick Hamilton

Barry grew up in Northeast Minneapolis as the middle of three brothers. Despite mild intellectual challenges, he graduated from Edison High School. He was a devoted music lover who enjoyed jamming with his dad and his brother Dan as part of their musical family. Barry became an avid Beatles fan early in life and continued to enjoy their music throughout the years. He also loved cheering for his favorite team, the Minnesota Twins, and was an American history enthusiast who could name every president in order, starting with the present and going back to George Washington. Barry spent many years working at Accessibility, Inc., where he made many friends. He thrived in his Wingspan Resources group home, where he got along well with his housemates, especially his best buddy, Jack. Barry and Jack especially enjoyed teaming up for music trivia competitions against other group homes, and they usually won. He also took part in many Wingspan activities, especially Glee Club. Barry will be deeply missed by all who knew this sweet, gentle, quiet, and loving man. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Luella Hamilton, and his brother, Steven Hamilton. He is survived by his brother, Dan Hamilton; his sister-in-law, Linda (Bob) Saunders. The family is grateful to the wonderful Wingspan staff for helping make Barry’s life full and happy, and to Ecumen Hospice for the care and comfort provided in his final days.
