Craig Allen Kascht, age 47 of North Oaks, MN, born in Golden Valley, raised in Shoreview, graduate of Moundsview High School and the University of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Craig will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 23 years, Char; treasured son, Hunter; parents, Vic and Melda Kascht; sister, Lisa (Jim) Grisim; mother and father-in-law, Arnie and Marilyn Lubrecht; sister-in-law, Lisa (George) Stangl; niece, Autumn; nephews, Jimmy, Brooks, Cameron; many uncles, aunts, and cousins; other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Brad and Kevin and grandparents.

Craig lived a very full life, personally and professionally, loving his career, working over 22 years in the beverage industry, playing football for the University of St. Thomas (Tommies for Life!), coaching youth football and cheering on the Packers. 

Craig loved going skiing, cabin time, and many Derby trips with his lifelong best friends. Craig’s passion for being an outdoorsman found him hunting, fishing and spending time at the cabin or relaxing at the lake with his family.  He loved all music and playing golf (some say he enjoyed throwing golf clubs more) and was the ultimate “Dog Whisperer”.  His sense of humor, quick wit, and remarkable recall of all kinds of trivia were only surpassed by beating everyone at cribbage and the way he could light up any room… all things bringing a smile to your face.

Always together, spending time with family was the center of Craig and Char’s life. They loved traveling, friend gatherings, listening to music, and anything outdoors. His greatest joy was being a Dad to Hunter, sharing their love of their fur baby, Bella, reading history books, and watching football games. Family time was the most important time: they loved late night bonfires, boating, playing in the ocean, and attending all of Hunter’s sporting events.

Life without Craig is unimaginable and he will forever be in their hearts.

Craig’s family is extremely grateful for the care and compassion shown by the North Memorial ICU, Neurosurgeon, Trauma, and Palliative teams.

Family and Friends, please, join us for Craig’s Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21st at Incarnation Lutheran Church. A memorial visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m.
