William Smith
Smith, William M. "Bill" of Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away on September 19th. He was 78 years old.
Preceded in death by his wife, Kathy and son, Tony.
Survived by daughter, Victoria (Dan) Sheehan, daughter-in-law, Tammy, sister, Rose, 8 grandchildren; Clarissa (Luke) Lasecke, Rachael (Bobby) Krzmarzick, Jon (Sarah) Smith, Kelsey Feirer, Will Smith, Thomas, Smith, and Beth (James) Berner, and 6 great-grandchildren; Dexter Bona, Ethan Smith, Anna Smith, Malia, Seth, and Connor Dean and other loving family and friends.
Bill was retired Air Force and served in the first Iraq war. He was one of the first people to cross the border between Kuwait and Iraq because they were setting up communications and he was one of the few people left who knew morse code. He was also a pit boss at Mystic Lake casino. He and Kathy welcomed many foster children into their home.
Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, September 30th. A short Catholic service will be held at 2. Snacks and coffee to follow. He will be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1st.
