Robert L. Fjerstad, of NE Minneapolis, passed away and entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2017. He was 86 years old.

Bob was born on November 27, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN to Harold and Bernice Fjerstad. His last few years were devoted to the care of his wife, Marcia, before she passed (August 2016).

He will be dearly missed by his loving family: sons, Joe (Joanne) and Patrick (Karen); daughter, Laurie; cherished granddaughters, Adrianne (Brent) and Jordan; his sisters, Carole and Patty; brother, Jerry (Lynda); and many other family and friends.

Bob served with honor in the U. S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952. He received a BA and later an MBA from the University of Minnesota. Bob worked at NSP (Xcel Energy) for 20 years in Human Resources, followed by years running his own consulting business: Human Relations Consultants. He also taught HR courses at Metro State and University of Minnesota. Bob and Marcia moved from the Twin Cities and retired to their home on Rat Lake near McGregor, MN in 1995. In 2009, they returned to N.E. Minneapolis.

Bob enjoyed singing, volunteering at his church, and helping people. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a resident at Catholic Eldercare and we offer special thanks to the staff for all they did for him during his stay.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23rd at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church with gathering at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment at Hillside Cemetery.
